The wedding took place at a private estate in the woodlands outside of Shreveport, Louisiana. With both the bride and groom’s families being natives to Louisiana and having strong, traditional and cultural ties to the area, we wanted the design to reflect it. We decided to take those cultures outside and create a “personal living room” feeling to the space with a very warm and welcoming feel to it which told the story of their heritage.
The event's floral and design palette were designed to reflect the cultural traditions of the two families and paired with traditionally styled furnishings in subdued neutral colors. Don’t let the sound of that fool you though; the celebration was anything but subdued. We created a space that walked guests through chapters of a book, which reflected the family story throughout each area of the party by utilizing personalized accent décor of books small floral, candles, pillows and pictures.
We had a lot of fun with the design and a notable showstopper amongst the design elements, were six-foot tall peacocks constructed completely out of fresh floral. The overall look complimented the couple, and told their story perfectly.
